Botox® Injections in King of Prussia & Bryn Mawr
BOTOX injections have been the world’s most popular cosmetic procedure, surgical or non-surgical. BOTOX has had several medical uses over the decades, such as the treatment of an overactive bladder or chronic migraine relief, but when the FDA approved BOTOX for treating wrinkles in 2002, it became a sensation in the cosmetic market. That’s as true in Hollywood as it is here in King of Prussia, Bryn Mawr, Margate, NJ and the greater Philadelphia area. BOTOX wrinkle relaxers have a loyal following for one reason – they work. Once injected, they effectively erase lines and wrinkles in the upper third of the face for about four months.
Lux Skin Lasers by John Lee, MD is Mainline’s #1 Botox and TOP 100 (out of 40,000+ clinics) provider of BOTOX and wrinkle relaxers in the US.

Wrinkle Relaxers We Offer
BOTOX®
BOTOX is made from botulinum toxin type A. Scientists discovered that if the botulinum toxin was injected in a minuscule amount into a muscle, it caused no harm to the body. BOTOX works by relaxing the muscles that form wrinkles when we make various facial expressions. These are known as “dynamic” wrinkles, and if not addressed can cause long term effects such as brows droop, forehead collapse and overall hooding of the eyes. So, if you’re looking to address wrinkles around your crow’s feet, the lines between your brows, and forehead lines while also providing a more youthful, refreshed eyes appearance, BOTOX is your answer.
Daxxify
Daxxify is an advanced neurotoxin injectable treatment that stands out due to its unique, animal-free composition and labeled the “vegan Botox”. Utilizing Peptide Exchange Technology (PXT), Daxxify offers a synthetic alternative to the human or animal byproducts found in traditional neurotoxins like Botox, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a more ethical and natural cosmetic treatment. This product is one of Dr. Lee’s favorite due to its longevity and tighter molecules with the least dispersion, thus more control. Efficacy is visible within a few days and lasts up to 5-6 months.
Xeomin
Xeomin® is made of botulinum toxin type A and does not need refrigeration. Since it has no additives, the body has a reduced risk of developing antibodies against it. The effects of Xeomin® occur within one week, and the results last from three to six months, making it comparable to Botox in terms of both onset and duration of action.
Dysport
Overall, Botox and Dysport are very similar. Both are a type of botulinum type A used to relax the muscles that cause frown lines and other overactive facial muscles, including forehead lines and crow’s feet. It’s like comparing apples to apples. Dysport is a smaller molecule with the highest dispersion rate, thus providing the least control.

What to Expect on the Day of BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers Treatment
On the day of your BOTOX and wrinkle relaxers treatment in Philadelphia at Lux Skin Lasers, your provider and their staff will welcome you, get you settled, and review your treatment plan to ensure you are fully comfortable proceeding with it as discussed. Once you are ready to go, the treatment will begin.
We apply anesthetic cream before the injections at no additional charge to ensure your comfort. Once you are numb, your provider will perform the microdot injection technique, which allows a tiny amount of BOTOX to be injected into the intended muscle. This treatment allows for a more precise application, so unlike other providers, there are no post-treatment limitations.
BOTOX Cosmetic injections take less than five minutes. BOTOX Cosmetic and similar treatments, such as Dysport and XEOMIN, are neuromodulators that temporarily block chemicals that signal a muscle to contract (tighten). When used in a cosmetic setting, BOTOX Cosmetic can produce dramatic anti-aging effects.
BOTOX Cosmetic smooths out the appearance of expression lines by relaxing the underlying muscle. This results in a dramatic reduction in the signs of aging around the eyes and forehead and a younger, more energetic appearance.
BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers Recovery
BOTOX Cosmetic does not require any downtime, and you can immediately resume your regular activities. However, it is not recommended to rub the injection for 24 hours after your BOTOX session.

BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers FAQ’S
Is BOTOX Painful?
If you feel discomfort during your treatment, we can apply numbing cream. All our injectors use a very tiny diabetic needle for our BOTOX® injections, and BOTOX® is not injected to great depth. Because of this, our patients equate these injections to the feeling of a pinprick. You can opt for topical numbing cream, but most patients don’t feel the need.
How Many Appointments Will I Need?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a single-session treatment.
How Long Until I See the Results?
Once you receive your injections, the botulinum toxin will take seven to ten days to relax the injected muscles fully and for the results to show properly. Depending on how the patient metabolizes the solution, the effects tend to last three to four months.
Over time, the formula breaks down, and the wrinkles reappear. Many people opt for injections three or four times a year to help prevent the reappearance of wrinkles.
Discontinuing BOTOX® Cosmetic injections will not cause you to age more rapidly. If you discontinue treatment, your skin will return to its natural state, being neither less nor more wrinkled than before.
Can I Combine BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers with Other Procedures?
BOTOX® Cosmetic works to relax the muscles under the skin that create wrinkles and lines on the skin’s surface. That makes BOTOX® Cosmetic a perfect complement to JUVÉDERM® or Restylane® injections on the mid to lower face. These injectable treatments work in completely different fashions, so there isn’t any interaction or issues between them.
Other than treatments that target the eyes and forehead, pretty much any of our treatments at Lux Skin & Lasers could complement BOTOX® Cosmetic injections.
What Are the Risks Associated with BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers?
BOTOX is a tried-and-true treatment. However, it still has associated risks, which are advisable to be aware of.
- Asymmetry post-injection
- Bruising
- Crooked smile or drooling
- Diarrhea
- Droopy eyelid or cockeyed eyebrows
- Eye dryness or excessive tearing
- Headache
- Muscle fatigue
- Nausea
- Numbness
- Skin inflammation and redness
- Swelling
If you experience any long-lasting, unwanted, or unexpected reaction, please contact us at Lux Skin Lasers immediately.
Should I combine BOTOX® Cosmetic with dermal fillers?
BOTOX® Cosmetic works to relax the muscles under the skin that are creating the wrinkles and lines on the surface skin. That makes BOTOX® Cosmetic a perfect complement to JUVÉDERM® or Restylane® injections on the mid to lower face. These injectable treatments work in completely different fashions, so there isn’t any interaction or issues between them.
Other than a treatment that targets the eyes and forehead, pretty much any of our treatments at Lux Skin & Lasers could be a complement to BOTOX® Cosmetic injections
What is a blepharospasm, and how can BOTOX® treat it?
People are not aware that BOTOX® is also commonly used to treat blepharospasm (excessive blinking, twitching of the eyes). Blepharospasm is a muscle disorder that causes involuntary spasms of the muscles around your eye. These spasms can result in uncontrolled narrowing or closing of your eyelid and can impair your vision.
If you experience any of these symptoms, you could have blepharospasm:
- Dry eyes or watering eyes
- Light sensitivity
- Increased blinking
- Ocular pain
- Soreness
BOTOX® treatments allow patients with excessive blinking or eye twitching to more easily keep their eyes open.
Since this is a medical condition, it is covered by most insurance. Physicians have been using this injection to treat blepharospasms successively for over 20 years. We have a loyal following of patients who receive regular treatment for blepharospasm.
